I have an amazing article in the January issue of Makeup Artist Magazine, an interview with the makeup artist Mary Greenwell. It's a Q&A, so the amazingness is all hers--it's one of the best interviews I've ever done. Greenwell was there at the beginning of the supermodel era, playing dress-up with Cindy Crawford, Linda Evangelista, Christy Turlington, et al. Here she is, holding forth on red lipstick:
The whole interview is like that, trust me. It isn't online yet, so you'll have to hunt down a copy of Makeup Artist Magazine, which is a trade journal for professionals. It's also by professionals, who treat writers brilliantly--I have had a great experience with the stories I've done so far, and love my editor, Heather Wisner. In the twilight days of print media as we know it, that is something that is all too rare and worthy of mention.

yummy, can't wait to read that :)
I can't wait to be sixty for the things I'm going to wear (well I can wait, but you know). Everything from "Toast", for a start. Wonderful.

I want to read the whole thing!
One question: Why is she wearing that lower lid liner? I think it gives her droopy eyes. Or am I being harsh? She really is pretty; reminds me of Alison Janney a bit.

It's nice to see an expert articulate my thoughts about red lipstick. Every few seasons the style mags talk about how it's "in" again, and I sigh with resignation and wait for the fad to pass.
Can't wait to read the entire interview.
