This is the Urban Decay Deluxe Shadow Box. It's $36 and it's been around for a while. For people who don't have one already, the top left color is pink and the top right color is purple, not mauve and dark blue, as they appear on my laptop screen.
Why I'm telling you about it:
1. The colours are so good, I actually use all of them, regularly. This hardly ever happens with an eyeshadow set, so it makes this one extremely good value. Urban Decay Deluixe Eyeshadows are normally $18 each and about twice as big as these individual ones (2.5g next to 1.2g) which makes this box about half the normal price not including the mini primer. And much prettier.
2. The purple velvet covered cardboard box with metal chain insert and mirror is actually pretty tough and holding up well, which I did not expect. This is important. Poor packaging design can lead to neglect and waste even with good products, but great design brings cheer whenever you pick it up.
And honestly, you don't have to save bright colours like these for Saturday night onstage at Cesar's Palace with your flamingo bikini and headdress. They can be worn in real life- the same way you might wear green nail varnish or a pair of orange shoes. More about that in another post.

Hey there Alice! Good to know, the colors look intriguing. I have to remind myself not to "save" my NARS Rated R eyeshadow (fluoro yellow and electric blue) for special occasions. I think I'd wear it today if I weren't cooped up in the house with 'flu:(

Fluoro and electric- makes the shadow box colours seem positively tame!
get better soon :)

I LOVE LOVE LOVE the UD palettes.
My first was the Skull one with Vert and shattered and some sparkles, Then Ammo (which has 10!) with such lovelys as shattered (which i use all the time)& mildew and gorge neutrals like maui mowie and sin and then the deluxe on... oooo I love it! The bright blues and the yellow (which I was unsure of but its lovely!)...
Can't wait for the Urban Decay The Book of Shadows with 16 shades (more like the Ammo toned down palette) coming out soon and the Sustainable Shadow Box with 10 shades and made from wood...

That is such a cute set and I can't say I'm not tempted by it, but I KNOW that I'd buy it and then never use it. I love bright eyeshadow on everybody else in the world, but when I wear it I feel like I'm heading to the circus. There are many barely-used bright eyeshadows in my make-up basket that stand testament to this sad fact...
