I was perusing commenter Mikaela's Jet-Set Beauty blog today and came across her post on the Yuroll, a jade facial massager. My acupuncturist used to use one of these on me, and I remember how astonishing a sensation it was--smooth, cool, immediately relaxing. I don't know about the farther-fetched claims about jade's ability to "stabilize the personality," but it hardly matters. The devices are pretty objets d'art in their own right, so I think of this as jewelry that makes your skin feel wonderful. I also like the Yuroll website, which is clever and simple, the way all cosmetic sites should be but aren't.

What do you get when you throw a true beauty obsessive in Europe together with a veteran beauty journalist in LA? Not much room on the bathroom shelves, that's for sure.
