What's the last product you used up?

  It's getting worse, not better
  Originally uploaded by dynamist.

As you can see, I have a LOT of products (that's only a very small fraction of what I have knocking about here - don't even ask about all the stuff I still have left in London). I get many, many samples for this blog, and it is rare that I really need to buy something for myself.

In fact, I panic a little when I start to get low on a certain product and don't have a full back-up waiting. For example: I have a bottle of shampoo in each of my two showers, and both bottles are getting low. I have approximately 60 miniature bottles of shampoo - from hotels - in my travel supply stash. But I'm not going to use those at home.

So I went out today and bought one new bottle of shampoo (thank you, TJ Maxx). Only now do I realize that I should have purchased two. Or - God forbid - used up all the little travel bottles, since I acquire new ones by the dozen almost monthly.

I've thought hard, and can't remember the last time I used a product up completely. Even with toothpaste, I leave some in the tube and take it with me when I travel. (God, I love busting open a new tube of toothpaste. Sad but true.)

What's the last product you used up? Did you replace it with more of the same? Do you use those travel toiletries at home, or on the road only?

The last product I used up was my Jessicurl Too Shea Extra Moisturizing Conditioner in the Island Fantasy scent. I replaced it with more of the same. I use it more than my other hair care products so I buy it in liters. I use full sized toiletries at home and travel ones on the road.

A good thing to do with trial sized products that accumulate is to donate them to your local shelters. We give often to a local women's shelter that houses abused women and their children. They often arrive at the shelter with just their clothes on their back so having some nice toiletries makes a huge difference. On another note, I've really enjoyed your site. You guys have a great holiday!

Paula's Choice beta hydroxy acid, blemish control lotion, no-sunscreen night creams and sunscreen daily moisturizers - the only things I repeatedly replace because the quality is high, price is fair, and the beta hydroxy appears to be the magical missing link product for my skin.

We're getting through a shedload of Molton Brown Naran Ji hand wash at the moment - 3 bottles since last Christmas, but only a tiny bit of the accompanying hand lotion has been used up in the same time!

I used up some toothpaste last week, and I used up some Lush soap the week before that. I replaced the toothpaste (Crest Vanilla Mint) with Crest Cinnamon, and the Lush soap (Pineapple Grunt) was replaced with Honey, I Washed the Kids.

I have travel sized things of everything but shampoo-- I use Lush solid shampoo, so that goes in a tin to hit the road.

I love those little bottles you get in hotels and if they are really fancy then I use them at home. I take the boring ones to travel with me ;-)
I just finished my shampoo which was a bottle of Tresemme and I need to get some other shampoo. I never buy the same straight away. I also have lots of different bottles of shampoo and conditioner in my bathroom, I like to have a choice!

I love it when I use up something and actually before I see bottom. This means I can go out and buy more or try other brands. The last bottle I actually used up was my bottle of Olay body wash. I hate it when they come in such a big bottle that it takes forever to finish. As I prefer to rotate my products, that bottle of Olay lasted me for 1 year!

Maybe you should, um, make donations to loyal readers.

Giveaways might be fun. Since I started putting on lotion at the gym everyday after post-workout shower, my stash is getting depleted. It's a good thing.

Kiehl's Ultra Facial Moisturizer. Can't live without it - panic when I have to work hard to get it out of the bottle. I just started using the Ultra Facial Cream (a bit heavier than the moisturizer) and I love it. It's the only product I am 100 percent completely and totally devoted to. I too like to try new things when something runs out - but not the moisturizer! ;)

That's a toughy. I can't even seem to get through those little samples -- and don't get me started on bar soap. I'm still using the same Prescriptives facial cleanser that I bought last December and by the looks of it, it might make it till next December. Plus, I bought my shampoo at Sams Club so it's super sized.

I did just buy some new pressed powder, but I still have some pressed powder left that I'm keeping for traveling. I'm also getting low on my Prescriptives Traceless foundation, but I already bought some more. Both those products were bought last December as well.

Maybe it was the tub of exfoliating scrub I ran out of last summer. Nowadays, I just use a scrubbing brush.

The last product I used up was my Bed Head after party hair product. I love the stuff. It makes my hair so smooth, yet it doesn't weigh it down and my hair smells incredible. I have yet to purchase it again b/c I have so many other hair products that I need to use. I plan to re purchase soon though!
