Nowhere to go but bald

  New haircut

Seriously: How can I ever go back to long hair when shortness is just so easy? (Also, the shaggy stage that my hair was at for the last couple of weeks was horrendously annoying.)

Looking back at photos of me with long hair - like this one - I do feel sad that it's all gone. But then I remind myself that photos like that are nice because they show a rare day when I actually bothered to put quite a bit of effort into my tresses (or paid someone else to do so). Realistically, I'm going to look better every day with short hair than I did every once in a while when I had it long.

(My cut, in case you're curious, was inspired by the wonderful Meg Hourihan - aka Megnut - one of the internet's prettiest pioneers.)

I know everyone else will say this too, but you look seriously gorgeous with your hair like this Jackie, I am so impressed. Everything about your face looks more defined, confident and You.

Beauty is about being and expressing who you really are, and long hair is a huge distraction from the face, which I think is why we've seen so much of it in the last few years since extensions got more convincing. Long hair softens, but you don't need that (and I speak as someone with big hair convinced she does!)

Anyway, brilliant stuff, go you!

Thank you! I would never have had short hair if I hadn't lost a bunch of weight. I am losing more, but this is a big bonus of getting smaller. No more hiding behind my hair.

Your cut looks great. Sophisticated and cool for summer months. If you have a special occasion and want it long, you can always by a fall!

every year around this time (deep summer in new orleans) i want to cut all of my hair off so that it NEVER Touches my Neck Again! Then, I am reminded that cutting all of my hair off makes me look like a gym teacher with a yen for young ladies. It's not my best look.
But I say, if you can rock it (as you obviously can), then it's the easiest and best hair in the world! Enjoy your new found freedom!

Your cut looks great! I wish I could go as short as your friend Meg.

I've cut my hair off several times in my life, and I've really enjoyed those times! I have much less to worry about, it takes way less time to get ready in the morning, and I can swim without feeling dragged along with the tide. Your hair looks great! Enjoy it.

There is nothing so chic as a stylish short haircut, it brings out the bone structure. And you never end up sporting that sloppy ponytail to the grocery store look.
