I have uneventful lashes--shortish, straight, light brown. My preference in mascara is for big, thick and slightly clumpy. So I recently spent an hour at Sephora, where I compared Fusion Beauty's $39 LashFusion (something about hydrolized keratin bio-adhering nanomules) and Imju's $22 Fiberwig. I couldn't really tell any difference, so bought nothing. Later, I ended up finding exactly what I wanted with MAC Zoom Lash, for $11. It is pretty goopy, and takes a bit of patience to apply, but comes out giving me the look I want: big curly, furry spider legs.
PS: the eyeshadow of the day is Urban Decay Urb on the inside corner and i nuovi emerald on the outside.

Have you tried Lancome's Cils Booster XL? I'm not sure if they still make it but I ordered it off eBay with Hypnose. WOW! I have never seen my lashes look so amazing. I too have short thin lashes and tried every mascara you can think of.
Just a thought :)

Give this combo a try. I can still remember the day I tried Shiseido Mascara Base + Jane Hi-Fiber waterproof Mascara + heated lash curler! Wow! Are these MY lashes?!

I am going to go out and buy some of the Mac Zoom Lash mascara, my eyelashes could benefit greatly from it! Thanks for the great tip.

My lashes are like yours. I stand by lancome definicils. Your eye looks lovely, btw. I might need to copy it, though it won't look quite the same.

Here is an update: I have figured out that a quick blot of the wand with a kleenex leaves this mascara just as effective but makes it super easy to apply. In essence, I love the goupiness of this mascara because it transfers easily to my very fine lower lashes, without having to "scrub" at them with the wand.

I must say your eyes look great. I never considered using two colors of shadow together the way you did. You knew? And here I am blogging away each day about beauty.
Your tip about using the kleenex on thewand before doing the bottom lashes is good for those like me whose bottom lashes, thin to begin with are now this side of sparse.

My lashes are nothing special on their own, but with Dior Show, I'm a total drag queen. Its the best mascara I've ever tried and works the lash thick, long and curly.

Have you ever tried Rimmel's mascaras? I usually use mascaras that are a little more pricier, but these seem to work pretty darn good and they are cheap cheap cheap. I am using one with latex in it right now, but I'm thinking you might want to try the one they make that comes with a comb applicator (sorry I forget the exact product names). If you want tarantula legs for eyelashes, that's the product for you!

I am also constantly trying new mascaras (and lipsticks and eyeshadows and... actually I no longer wish to carry on as now I'm starting to feel I might have to recognize an addition I'm still in -- quite happily -- in denial about) so obviously I was quite drawn to this particular post...
First, I think my lashes look better when I use a lash primer -- I prefer the stand- alone ones such as lancome's cils booster, the one by estee lauder, and the one by Prescriptives (I've used this one quite a bit but do swap and try others from time to time to try something new) as opposed to the ones that come along with the masacaras (like the ones by Revlon, etc.)
Second, I used definicils for quite awhile and when I used maybelline's lash expansion, I got quite a few compliments considering the price, but (I agree with Ariella's post) one of my favorites (so far) is DiorShow -- for me, I like the original version; the brush (which is what the wand really is more like) is very full (big/thick) and may take a bit of getting used to at first, but I like it as it seems to grab every lash for a fuller look and allows you to "brush" all the way to the tips for the length. I did try DiorShow BlackOut and the Unlimited versions, but I did not like these as much -- the BlackOut would be good for those with thinner lashes that might want a bit more of a clumped together look w/out the clumps on the lashes, and Unlimited has a teeny bristled wand that seemed to emphasize the length of the lashes but didn't help with the fullness that I like.
Third, (which probably should have been mentioned first since it's usually the first step) is the eyelash curler -- I'm partial to either Shu Uemura or Shiseido eyelash curlers. Take a few seconds to warm up the metal with a hair dryer... makes a big difference in the curl and in holding the curl, even when recurling "on the run" as a later touch-up.
Thanks to everyone for posting their blogs and comments! I like to trying different products but usually prefer to go off recommendations so this site has been great!
