Blue is the color

  Blue is the color
  Originally uploaded by dynamist.

Inspired by Hillary's spring green shadows, I busted out my sunny weather blues yesterday for the first time this year. (I couldn't find my greens, spread out as my stash is across seventeen makeup bags on two continents.)

Actually, one of these is a very light, minty green - Helena Rubenstein Icy Eyes in a shade called Go Girly. That went all over the lid - after MAC Fluidline Eyeliner Gel. On top of it, just in the socket, I layered Cover Girl Shadow Squease in a color called Lagoon. These are both very sheer shadows, which can still have quite a startling effect after a winter spent in earth tones and nudes, with violet-colored liners the only real boldness. (I speak for myself here. I haven't felt up to trying to carry off more than this in quite a while.)

I've been baby-blueing it all week...

I especially love the liner--very stylish!

Oh, thank you. I can never get the line perfect, so have sort of given up on that and embraced the wonk.

About

  • What do you get when you throw a true beauty obsessive in Europe together with a veteran beauty journalist in LA? Not much room on the bathroom shelves, that's for sure. Make-up, hair products, skincare, perfume, salons, spas, luxury hotels with toiletries and treatments that make us never want to go home - if we've left anything out, you can pry our mirrors from our cold, dead, perfectly manicured hands.
