Summer Soles

I think this may be my favorite new product of the year, nevermind the summer. If you've ever slipped and slid your way around town in dressy summer sandals, Summer Soles will be a godsend for you.

Footwear is a huge, horrible issue for me. I have gigantic feet (size 13), and it's hard to find pretty shoes that fit. Once I find them, there is usually some issue - most often, blisters. Last summer, I found a gorgeous pair of Grecian-style flat sandals at Nordstrom in Los Angeles. Not only did they fit me, but they were on sale, too! But, as I discovered when I wore them out shopping, pain was still the order of the day. Every so often, one of the sandals would slide off to the point where my arch would crush down on the hard heel as I put my foot down.

So I was eager to try Summer Soles when the product's PR person sent me a sample of the "Softness of Suede" liners. They really do live up to the slogan. Since my feet are so massive, I didn't have to trim the liners to fit my sandals, though those of you with more delicate feet may have to do so. (The liners fit women's shoe sizes 5-11 and men's sizes 7-12.) The result? No more slipping, no more sliding, no more hammering my arch into a hard heel. I'm in love.

My only criticism is a small one: I'm not really a leopard or zebra print kind of girl, and those are the two prints Summer Soles come in. I can live with this, but would like a choice of solid colors (black would be just fine, though) for future purchases.
